About The Event

What are ‘Trigger Clinics’?

The trigger sessions use Havening Techniques® (Delta Wave Techniques) to de-link triggers and also manage the symptoms of compassion fatigue. This is based on neuroscience and has been extremely successful for all parents, e.g. parents who are caring for children who have experienced trauma and those who have high levels of stress.

During the session, the Havener will help you identify the issue/trigger causing you the most distress. Common triggers for parents are, incessant chattering, not listening, stretching the truth (lying), taking things (stealing), defiance, screaming, shouting, food issues, toilet issues, sleep issues, aggression, unkind words, swearing, unhelpful others. The Havener will guide you in using the psychosensory technique - touch and distractions - to remove or significantly reduce the emotional content associated with the trigger.

A Group Trigger Clinic is a taster session where you will be guided to reflect on which trigger is most prominent for you (suggestions above). Due to it being a Group Session, you will not benefit from individual empathic support, that said parents do benefit from working with like-minded parents. More in-depth support can be offered in an individual session available to book HERE.

How and where:

The sessions last for 60 minutes and are held via Zoom. A link will be sent out prior to your appointment taking place. Admissions will close 15 minutes before the event is due to start.

As the sessions are interactive, your camera and microphone will need to be switched on.

What is Havening®?

The Havening Techniques® is a method which is designed to change the brain to de-traumatize the memory and remove its negative effects from both our psyche and body. As part of its protocol, The Havening Techniques uses the sensory input of human touch as a therapeutic tool which we have identified as Havening Touch®. The process of the Havening Technique requires touch. The decision of who should provide the touch must be made jointly.

The Havening Techniques® are powerful tools that can be used to treat the consequences of encoded traumatic or stressful memories. Depending on the nature of the encoded trauma, it can be done with guidance by a certified Havening Techniques practitioner or by oneself. Please do not use the Havening Technique with yourself for a serious trauma or if you suffer from any psychological disorders. We advise that you seek the help of a professional mental health care provider who is certified in the Havening Technique if you have experienced severe trauma or suffer from a psychological disorder.

The above explanations have been taken from the Havening ® official website - www.havening.org/index.php
